Head Coach
Camila Silva
Coach Silva, from Chile, is a US Speedskating Level 2 Certified Coach with 10 plus years of experience in the DC Metro Area. Before her coaching career, she participated in multiple inline, ice speedskating and cycling events. She began her new position with UCB as Head Coach for the start of the 2023-2024 season. Coach Silva is excited to provide a training regimen that promotes aerobic and anaerobic activity as well as inculcating the love for speedskating and all sports to all athletes.
Assistant Coach
Thomas Mostowy
Thomas began coaching speedskating and ice hockey for Fort DuPont Ice Arenas’ “Kids on Ice” program from 2008 until 2018, where he focused on basic skating skills for beginners. He was a founding member of UCB in 2013 and assisted beginner skaters form 2013 until 2018. Coach Tom is currently seeking his US Speedskating Level 1 Certification.
In addition to skating, Tom was a baseball coach for 15 years, including a 16 and under Virginia state championship. He was also a Taekwon-Do instructor five years. For his day job, Tom is the Dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies and a Professor at Trinity Washington University.
